- Every 28 minutes an Afghan woman dies while giving birth. 452 women a year in Kandahar & 672 in Helmand.
- Women are forbidden to see male physicians.
- Many pregnant women receive little or no prenatal healthcare.
- Average mortality age is 42 years old.
